Definitely tell me your ideas. I'm going to submit it somewhere else in 60 days. I think I've grown fond of this one. I saw the face after you pointed it out!
1. I'm always for the impossible--I'd like to see each image bigger, or stand out better somehow. It seems so… far away, and it's hard to really see the beautiful subtle expressions and such. I understand it's bigger on a full shirt, but I dunno, it seems small.
2. This may be exactly how you want it, and if so, fantastic. But I don't like how the girl's bangs come all the way over her face like that--it makes her seem like a darker, meaner person somehow. It also makes her just more mysterious and maybe just shy, but that's not the hit I got.
3. In the second panel, the girl is sort of sneaking into it, but in many ways she just looks like she's in a rather awkward position and is just awfully confused.
4. Now I may just be being paranoid, but there's something odd about the shadows…
Thanks, Peri. I'm glad you liked the design enough to help make it better and I always like getting critiques. Fresh eyes can see so much more than I can.
1. It seems small to me too. I THINK on an actual shirt it would be much better. At least on a men's shirt... I don't really know what to do to make it bigger without changing the composition, though.
2. I like the girl being dark. It wasn't my original intention, but if she's a little dark, you can see it as two little emo kids who like to brood finding love but not wanting to show it (which I think is funny). I'm going to play with it some more to see if I like it better with a sweeter expression on her face, though. You might be right.
3. Noted. I see how it looks awkward now. Thanks. :)
4. I was thinking of it more as ground than shadows. Just something to ground them in the design. If you figure out what looks odd, please let me know.
Aww...
ReplyDeleteVery sweet.
Has anyone ever told you over the internet that they have an artistic crush on you? Because I just did. And you're pretty cute too. ;)
ReplyDeleteSchaweet! ;)
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you ever resubmit this somewhere, Boots. I've got a few ideas for editing (or whatever you call that for visual art).
ReplyDeleteAnd again, this cloud does look like a face. Perhaps not so much as in Escape, but it definitely does. It might be because it's so symmetrical...

ReplyDeleteAll righty then, I will.
